From humble beginings three doctors, Derrick Mthembu, Mabu Kobe and Dudu Kunene set out to establish a medical device distribution company in 2005. Their mission to provide affordable but good quality products as well as an alternative to what had become entrenched suppliers to the health industry.

The three doctors used their extensive knowlegde and their combined eighty years experience in the medical field to identify and source good quality products. With no external funding, they set about establishing the business.

Today Kunene Health Care a one hundred percent black owned company (47.5 percent female) has a staff complement of over thirty, ninety nine percent of whom are Black.  50% of our staff are female and  70 % under 35 years of age.
